The portuguese poet Ana Luisa Amaral was there and read her poetry to us. Here's a poem:
GRAMMARS OF LOOKING
Exchanging glances may be an easy task,
but not exchanging eyes
Focused, another point, and in reverse,
in reverse, a new light,
another landscape
As of another blue,
a different glow,
broken in clouds, the sky
in a new color
Exchanging glances may be a trivial task,
exchanging eyes: a new way
of displaying
on a deserted stage (previous illusion):
voyage with no return
— the exchange:
irreversible:
An excess given back
to the space inhabited
the same
Exchanging glances may be a minor task
(The other one:
a new grammar
for love)
Ana Luísa Amaral, “Gramáticas do olhar”, in A Arte de Ser Tigre, Gótica, 2004, transl. Ana Luísa Amaral
